We're excited to share that Honeycomb has achieved yet another Amazon Web Services (AWS) Competency—the Resilience Technology Competency—which recognizes our ability to help customers detect, investigate, and recover from failures in production systems running on AWS.
While receiving the competency designation is a fantastic recognition of the capabilities of the Honeycomb platform (we also received one in Financial Services earlier this year), it's ultimately not the point. We understand, along with our customers, that resilience is an essential part of our work to ensure the integrity of software and agents in the wild.
We've built the case for this work over the years with our customers who understand that the speed and efficiency of their software or agents is a driving force for growth.

Honeycomb meets the resilience benchmarks
This particular competency is about what happens when something goes wrong. To qualify, AWS requires that partners like Honeycomb provide real-time detection, fast root cause analysis, and the ability to integrate with tools that teams are already using to respond.
“With Honeycomb, we can dig into outliers, figure out what's behind any slowdowns, and fix them right away. It gives us the clarity we need to quickly spot issues and fine-tune performance so everything runs smoother,” said the Director of Platform Engineering at Fender.
Here's how we meet this competency with the Honeycomb platform:
- Real-time telemetry: Honeycomb enables engineering teams to collect metrics, logs, traces, and events in real time. We also support OpenTelemetry.
- Anomaly detection: enables teams to automatically identify unusual patterns, outliers, and emerging performance issues across distributed systems.
- Root cause analysis: go from “something's wrong” to “here's why” without a pre-built dashboard holding you back.
- Integrations and automations: integrate and automate your incident response workflows with PagerDuty, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Opsgenie, Jira, ServiceNow, VictorOps, and webhooks.
- AWS coverage: Honeycomb works with Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Lambda, Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), and other AWS services through OpenTelemetry and AWS-native telemetry sources.
“I didn't know what good observability looked like until we adopted Honeycomb. It makes our jobs easier—fast insights, no fighting the tool—and it gives us the power to detect issues before our customers do,” said Brenden Petracek, Observability Team Lead at iQMetrix.
Where to find us
Honeycomb provides full context observability that allows engineering teams to understand and act on software or agent issues in production on AWS environments with speed and ease.
